Ah the days before Tom… where I guiltlessly blared country music and bad rap.  Here’s a little peek into my life.  Now some of these are completely a part of my soul (*cough*spacejam*cough*) and aren’t going anywhere, but some… um… well it’s time to go.

1. Delirious? .  I never actually listened to it.  Thought the cover was cool, knew it was a Christian album and I was supposed to keep it.

2. Lost Anthem- Went to disciple now.  Saw this band, had some cash, bought the cd.  Looking back, they totally didn’t play ANY Christian music at the event.  Maybe that’s why I bit.

3. S Club 7.  Think Disney Channel music but it came on ABC family.  British pop stars.  They had a TV show.  I wanted to be Jo.

4. Destiny’s Child- Bought this at Walmart with my cousin LeeAnna Say my name say my name…

5. Band of Oz- My family LOVES beach music, oldies, whatever you want to call it.  We don’t miss a show if we can help it.

6. Point of Grace- When my sister first started playing “keep the candle burning” in the car, thought it was a black group.  Dunno why, but I did.

7. Lonestar- 94.7 had this kick right after 9-11 of playing “I’m already there” from Lonestar and then cutting out parts of the song and putting “I love you daddy, come home” inserts in the song.  Everyone felt to guilty to change it and were so relieved when the sadness was over and something like “Boot Scootin Boogy” came on, that I’m sure their listeners doubled out of it.

8. Technically this CD is a burnt one of my sisters labeled “Martin Lutha Rap *&%$.”  Let’s be honest.  I kept it hoping to look cool one day to have all of these no-name rappers on one cd.

9. Audio Adrenaline- I think Sara Bisesi gave this to me.  This one I might be keeping out of interest.

10. Charlie’s Angels- I am guilty of being one of the first people ever to know all of the words to “I like big butts and I cannot lie…”

11. Creed- enough said

12. Alicia Keys- feeling some redemption here… less guilt.  Of course I can’t take credit for it.  Eliza picked it out for my stocking one year at the Godwin family Christmas at Mema’s.

13. TLC Crazy Sexy Cool- “Don’t go Jason Waterfalls… wow what a cool name” and theeen someone showed me how the jacket out of the front of the cd to look up lyrics.  Whaddya know.

14. Young Disciples- It’s hard to describe the young disciples in two lines.  Lets leave it with 50 kids, 20 Baptist churches, 4 tours, and a singing youth group.

15. Big Willy Style- the only cd my sister borrowed from me.  Christy gave me this cd in 8th grade for Christmas in Mrs. Barnes’s room.  Coolness climax of 8th grade.

16. Space Jam- KEEPING!!! I have dances made up for 3 of these songs.  2 Choreographed  with Amanda Pope.  I went to work with my dad for the first time and “helped him” by making copies for him and double the copies of my hands and face.  Dad bought me this cd as a “thank you.”  Good taste dad.  THEN Before Meme moved into her new house in Pine Level, I swept out the sawdust in each room before they put floors down… I listened to this cd twice through while I worked, dancing and singing with the broomstick occasionally.

17. Wyclef Jean- I’ll be gone til november I’ll be gone til novemberrr… Just the single.  All I needed.

And last but certainly not least…

18. Boys II Men- when I first heard the song “I’ll make love to you” I had no idea it was talking about sex.  Just thought it was about being in love.  But when I got to the clothes on the floor part, I’d skip through the verse b/c I knew being naked was bad.

Now they’re in a stack on my desk.  I need to throw some of them away, but I don’t know that I can bear to part with them after over a decade.  *Sigh*
